James Weiler

James Weiler is a 3rd generation owner of Weiler Abrasives Group, a global manufacturer of industrial abrasives for cutting, grinding, cleaning, and surface conditioning. At Weiler he worked in operations as a QA specialist based in China and as an ERP/IT analyst before leaving to pursue his passion for industrial design with MTS Design+Manufacture, a boutique product development firm in Allentown, PA, where he is a project manager. He served as a Weiler advisory board member for 27 years and now serves as a board observer and family governance advocate. James has also recently taught product design at Lehigh University and East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

James received his B.A. from Skidmore College, his Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute, studied Mandarin Chinese at National Taiwan University, and recently earned his Master of Engineering from Lehigh University. He is a father of two, enjoys making pottery and advising startups. He lives in Bethlehem, PA.
